PROGRAMME :
EMDH (Enfant du Monde – Droits de l’Homme) is launching a new mission in Syria in the frame of the Iraqi refugee crisis. The Iraqis have fled their country in difficult circumstances and most of them have experienced traumatizing events. Their situation in Syria is gradually worsening as their economical conditions are affected by the ban on legal work. This UNICEF- funded project will allow the opening of a centre for the Iraqi children and mothers in rural Damascus and will provide them psychosocial support through recreational activities with the supervision of a trained team and a psychologist.
MISSION :
Acting within the Association’s mandate, the consultant trainer organizes and implements an initial training for the team of the centre, including basic notions of child development and child protection. For instance, the trainer should focus on awareness about the needs of vulnerable children and particularly refugee children, the role of the facilitator, types of activities, how to organize, prepare and implement activities to address the needs of vulnerable children, identification of children in need of protection and of psychological support. If possible, the trainer is required to organize a follow up training 6 months after the initial training to organize follow up training The selected candidate will be reporting directly to the Head of Mission, and will be responsible for :
Draft and organize a training session for the psycho pedagogical team of the centre • Aware of the context of psychosocial intervention in the context of asylum, the trainer produces a training session about the basic needs of the children and the understanding of their role to prepare them to their every day practice with the children • Quickly understand and analyze the trainees background (level of education, awareness of population, cross cultural abilities) and adapt content of training in accordance • Produce pedagogical guidelines to support facilitators every day practice and activities • Evaluates and monitor outcomes of training and produce documents to demonstrate the impact of the training • Brief head of mission and if available Pedagogical coordinator with conclusions of the training and to contribute to define possible area of collaboration with facilitators and social worker for follow up after the initial training • Capitalization, documentation on activities, reporting
Contribute to the capitalization on the mission through conclusions and recommendations • Reports on training to the Head of Mission with CC to regional coordinator and project coordinator at the end of the mission Reporting : • Participate in programme reporting to principal funding partners • Weekly, monthly internal report. Representation :
Participate in technical meetings and develop relationships with Operational or Institutional Partners
Profil du candidat
Expériences : - Former experience as a children activity facilitator - At least 4 years professional field experience in community projects within a multidisciplinary team and experience of participatory approach - Experienced trainer
Langues : - Fluent Arabic (spoken) and English (written and spoken)
Qualité : - Excellent communication skills - Excellent teaching and analytical skill
